Description
This interactive writing session explores the importance of authentic representation of Tourette Syndrome (TS) in fiction writing and why it matters. The presenter will explore how tics and TS have been depicted in literature, highlighting the foundational elements of storytelling to emphasize the unique power of people with TS to tell their own stories. Participants will then take part in a writing activity where they’ll engage with guided prompts and practical techniques designed to support writing with TS in mind. They will then have the opportunity to share their writing process, explore how stories about TS resonate with them, and consider how storytelling can be a meaningful way to claim and share their own experiences.
